Timeline inquiries

The micro-credential assessment timeline is 14 business days - from initial submission to final award or denial. If your submission has exceeded the window, please let us know by providing your submission ID, and we will follow up.

Sharing your micro-credential award

With every micro-credential award you earn, there is also an open badge being issued. You have complete control over your badge, and it can be taken with you no matter where you go.

You can now access, download, or share your badge following this tutorial.

Hope the process of earning this micro-credential is meaningful and fun for you, and we look forward to seeing you earn and achieve more!

What are micro-credentials?

Micro-credentials are competency-based professional learning skills that enable educators to personalize and demonstrate their learning through evidence. This learning system is specific, subject-adaptable, research-based, flexible/timely, shareable, transparent, and performance-based.

Each micro-credential is developed using a framework to ensure they:

  • Focus on a single competency

  • Are supported by research

  • Require evidence of competence

  • Include a rubric for evaluation

To earn micro-credentials, educators:

  1. Select a micro-credential from the approved CUSD200 micro-credential list and submit a request for pre-approval through the Human Resources Department.

  2. Enroll in the required micro-credentials.

  3. Collect the required evidence as articulated in the micro-credential (e.g. videos, audio, writing samples, samples of student work, reflections form students and/or teachers etc.).

  4. Submit the required evidence through the online platform.

  5. Assessors then review the evidence against the scoring guide and rubric.

If educators successfully demonstrate competence, they receive the micro-credential in the form of a digital badge.

What is the micro-credential approval process?

All micro-credentials must be approved before course enrollment to be eligible for salary compensation.

Follow the steps below for the micro-credential process:

  1. Pick a micro-credential from the CUSD 200-approved list.

  2. Complete the Micro-credential Approval Form by requesting it from Sarah Leemans at sarah.leemans@cusd200.org or accessing it on the iVisions Self-Service Portal.

  3. Enroll in your micro-credentials (Digital Promise website).

  4. Complete the micro-credentials.

  5. All badges (certificates of completion) for completed micro-credentials must be received in Human Resources by October 1, 2025, to receive salary compensation.
